Who Qualifies To Get A Bursary Or Student Loan From NSFAS?
The National Student Financial Aid Scheme (NSFAS) has officially opened the 2025 application process.
Applications are now open and can shut on 15 December 2024.
*** Who qualifies for NSFAS funding
To qualify for NSFAS funding, an applicant should fulfill the subsequent criteria:
• Be considered a South African citizen or copyright who comes from a home which has a combined gross household income that does not exceed R350 000 per annum.
• Persons with disabilities qualify if their combined home earnings isn't going to exceed R600 000 per annum.
• SASSA recipients immediately qualify for funding and click here need not post any evidence of income.
*** Loan Scheme for the Missing Middle
The NSFAS Loan Scheme for the missing middle is open up to all South African citizens and permanent inhabitants from households with combined R350 000 and R600 000 for every annum.
Applicants are reminded to offer the correct Id Document numbers, names, and surname, nsfas status as mirrored inside their South African ID.
NSFAS only funds individuals who are learning or intend to study at a public university or TVET college in South Africa.
All students who wish to study in any of the public universities and TVET colleges should apply timeously and not to wait until the last day.
Learners do not have to wait for matric results to apply for NSFAS. They should apply now and avoid delays in the processing of their application.
